Group Living Program

A secure, home-like placement for up to six children and youth.

The Group Care Program, housing six female and/or male children and/or youth, provides a secure and safe living environment that addresses referral issues and the ongoing needs of the persons served. Programming develops basic skills: communication, anger management, conflict resolution, peer relationships, and family issues.

The focus is to prepare clients for success in a less intrusive setting, such as a return to their natural family, foster care, and/or a supported independent living program. Specific programming is provided to the person served and guardian at intake, and is implemented by the Director, Home Supervisor, and front-line staff in the daily life of the home.

The program also supports children and youth with varying degrees of maladaptive behaviours, those with mental health issues that affect daily life, and clients who are experimenting with or involved in criminal activity or on the periphery of it. Community and professional supports guide further service planning for grief and loss, group counselling, individual counselling, and help identifying mental health concerns.

Group living can be short-term, long-term, or for a crisis. We are licensed by CFS for 5 clients, with placements for 6 beds.
